Universal Free Meals Are Available in Massachusetts

Massachusetts became the eighth state to make universal free school meals a permanent program.  All students will be eligible for one free breakfast and lunch every school day.  Second lunch purchases will be charged full price ($3.50 elementary, $3.75 middle, $4.00 high).  A la carte milk costs $.75. There is no provision to provide free milk without a full lunch.   

Breakfast is available every morning in your school's kitchen.  Elementary School students will be asked to sign up for lunch each morning in their classrooms, and Middle and High School students will make their lunch selections in the cafeteria.

Please note that a la carte items will not be sold to students with negative accounts…..even if they have cash.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ad-3027.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
