Registration Reminders for the 2026 - 2027 School Year

As we begin planning for next school year, please take a moment to review these important registration reminders:

School Bus Registration
Students who will ride the school bus during the 2026–2027 school year must be registered by June 30, 2026. Note: METCO families will receive a bus registration email later this summer.
Bus routes will be developed over the summer, and bus passes will be mailed to registered students before the start of school. Route information will be available on the Wayland Transportation website by mid-August. Bus Registration emails were sent to all current and new WPS families. If you need it to be resent, please send an email to wayland_registration@waylandps.org.

Returning Student Registration
All families will receive a Returning Student Registration email this summer with instructions for reviewing and updating student, caregiver, and emergency contact information in our system. This process replaces the paper forms previously sent home. Please complete this review to ensure we have accurate information for the upcoming school year.

Withdrawing Students
If your student will not be attending Wayland Public Schools next year, please complete the School Withdrawal Form so your child's current school may update their enrollment.

Thank you for helping us prepare for a successful 2026 - 2027 school year!

Summer is a time to make the most out of the outdoors. Here are a few simple precautions to make your seasonal activities as safe as they are fun! T️h

Prevent Tick Bites: Use EPA-registered repellents. Check yourself, your child, and pets for ticks once a day. If you find one attached, remove it promptly using fine tweezers or a tick removal tool. For more information, please visit mass.gov/mosquitoes-and-ticks.

Prevent Mosquito Bites: Eliminate standing water around your home, repair window, and door screens, and use appropriate insect repellents. Stay up to date on local risk.

Heat Safety: Stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak hours (10 A.M. - 4 P.M.). Keep cool with air conditioning, cool showers, or by visiting air conditioned spaces like a mall or library. Check on your neighbors too. Stay Safe in Extreme Heat!

Sun Protection: Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, wear protective clothing, and seek shade.

For more information and to read about helmet, window, car, water and pool safety, as well as rabies prevention, go to MDPH’s Summer Safety Guidance.

Help Transform the Wayland Pool Wall

For more than a year, a broad coalition of Wayland residents, students, volunteers, and community organizations has been working together to create a new mural at the Wayland Community Pool — a space that has been repeatedly targeted by hate graffiti.

This project brings together the Wayland Community Pool, Arts Wayland, WaylandCAN, the Wayland Human Rights, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, Wayland High School students and staff, faith-based partners, and many dedicated community members with one shared goal: transforming a site of harmful, threatening messages into a visually welcoming mural, reflective of the community values that connect our town.

We're honored to be partnering with muralist and Wayland High School graduate Lena McCarthy Art to help bring this vision to life.

We've successfully raised half of our fundraising goal and are now asking for your help to close the remaining gap.

Donations will support artist materials, wall preparation, installation, community participation events, and preservation of the mural for years to come.

Every donation matters, so please give what you can.
